Families had a groovy time at our sensory Move and Groove event
Last week we welcomed families to our sensory Move and Groove event, hosted in Ealing as part of our events programme in north-west London.
Run by our Music Therapist, Henry, and Physiotherapist, Ginny, families came together for a sensory story and yoga session, run by one of our wonderful volunteers Mary. The sensory elements included bubbles, musical instruments, fabrics and more, which are used to engage a variety of needs.
The aim of our north-west London events programme is to reach families who might not have had the opportunity to participate in previous Shooting Star events due to distance. Music Therapist Henry says, “We were so pleased to be able to reach some of our north-west London families in Ealing for our ‘Move and Groove’ sensory group. It was exciting to see how well physiotherapy, yoga and music therapy complemented each other to engage our senses and ground us in our bodies at the same time.”
For everyone involved, it was clear that the connections created at events like this leave a lasting impact, providing both a sense of belonging and a much-needed opportunity to have some fun. Events like these only possible thanks to our generous supporters, please consider donating today.
